Nitzanim Session One-- My Jewish Traditions

In today's session, we discussed Jewish traditions observed by all Jews, and specifically, Jewish traditions observed by our families.  Many of the children cited lighting candles on Shabbat and playing dreidle on Chanukah as top of their list of Jewish traditions.  Shira shared with the class her favorite tradition, which is roasting marshmallows and eating them.

What do you think the role of tradition is in building a strong Jewish family?

  1. I think that observing traditions together can help members of a family connect with one another. It can also help them connect to other families, and build ties within a community.
